A month ago I bought a betta. I noticed upon closer inspection, spherical, growths at the end of his dorsal fin, they are the same color as the surrounding tissueand are not growing in size or quantity. They are not cottony. any ideas?

Ulcers or cysts. Treat with antibiotics like maracyn. He may get better or may not, but they shouldn't kill him.

Fungus, go to the store and get clorine remove and fungus cleaner, change the water and filter or what ever you may have for the tank. Changes the rocks and clean it very well with just warm water.

my best guess is either lymph, a viral infection or scars tissue from an old injury
