Unlike other rodents, guinea pigs have a longer gestation similar to cats and dogs... the average is 62 days. They usually have 1-3 pups.

the gestation of a guinea pig lasts from 59-72 days, depending on the pig. they are very good mothers, even though the offspring can survive on their own from birth. even still it is best to let them have mothers milk for the first few weeks before finding them new homes. hope this helps.
