I am neutral here, so I thought i would throw this out to you for your insight...
Do you feel that people do things like take getting points and reporting people way too seriously....... or do you think that Yahoo Answers is something different for everyone and open to interpretation as to how they find enjoyment out of it?

I think people take it way too seriously, especially when they ask questions that they should be asking a doctor, their parents, a counselor, or their therapist. But it's a nice way to have an open discussion about various subjects.
I bet Yahoo! didn't expect what they got out of this whole thing, that's for sure.

People need different things because people are different. Fact of life.
I tend to take my life too seriously, yet I am smart. So I come on here to goof around and occasionally mouth off at a stupid person asking moronic questions.
Others may not be creative enough to fill their time alone, so they come on here for something to do, making them semi serious about it so it doesn't go away and they lose their time waster.
Others still might take it far more seriously as if it is a thing for knowledge and serious help and should not be messed with because help is what they need.
It can't be perfect for everyone, but I think there are sections that are good for everything making it a good compromise between the three.
I know most of you will only look at your side of the wall on this question, so I decided to put this serious answer out (which I don't do often) to try to show you all a fair objective veiw of it all.
Try to see other people's point of veiw about things and their reasons for their veiws before you completely attack them and say they are wrong.

I think theres alot of people that take it way to seriously and alot that don't take it serious enough. Y!A is something different for everyone I got some of my friends to make acounts and they didn't like it or maybe used it for different things than I do. (one of them used it to insult me). Some people do though take the enjoyment out of it by getting people suspended and all those questions that really shouldn't be here. When people act somewhat mature though this site is very enjoyable!

,I am neutral as well, I am not going to take time out of MY day and report someone that answers questions inappropriately I have way better thing to do with my time. How ever, you can pretty much tell how old they are and how ignorant people are. I think it is funny. I can just picture some one answering a question with some stupid irrelevant answer and thinking that it is so funny.
Example: What is your favorite food?
answer: your mom (person who typed this, is probably crying laughing)

Unfortunately, many who participate in the R & S forum are adamant about trying to prove to the others that their viewpoint is truth. I and others have learned that no matter what our viewpoint is, there will always be someone out there with the opposing view so I don't usually waste my time answering questions that are obviously asked to bait me or other Christians. I have a personal realationship with my God and I know he exists. I don't need to, nor can I prove that to anyone else. It has to be a personal choice. People have the choice to make and I have made mine.

I don't care about points. I like the fact that I can answer a goofy questions and make someone laugh or serious one and really help.
I can practice my English as well which is very important for me:)

I like to have fun but there are those who are on here making it their mission to report anything THEY dont redeem as quality and that takes away the fun.

i think for some people it is a means to act tough without fear of getting their asss kicked. to say things they normally wouldn't say to people's face!
