My 11 year old has been getting sick each month around the same time. Symptoms are sore throat, low temperature, general aches. She could technically start her period any time (it's been over 1.5 years since development started). Each month she is sick 3-5 days. This has happened 5 of the last 6 months.

Is there any medical reason for this to happen as her body getting ready for menstruation? I've googled with no luck!

Thank you.

She is an athlete - strong and lean. I went through puberty earlier than most girls.

Ironic if this is true because she has seen three doctors about these monthly 'viruses' that no one else is catching!

Sunflare - could you please clarify "airborne or airshield supplement". Thanks.

L.K. --- she has been to a pediatrician, Ear/Nose/Throat specialist and Allergist. All have thought it was virus.

Tests have been done for Mono, Strep, White Blood Cell count and Immunoglobulins. Have no idea what other tests have been done! But not one doctor has mentioned puberty.

this is all too normal, lots of girls get this way.
body's immune is down and they tend to get stuffy noses.
and all the pms symtoms.
this usually happens in the winter months.
get her some pamprin and sudafed to take for these
symtoms.
airborne, or airshield supplement would really help her.

It is possible, Though it could be a symptom of some thing serious. I would have her looked at by a doctor and know for sure whats going on.
