Gilligan's Island was funny. They were so close many times to getting off the island but Gilligan had to screw it up somehow.
Why is the fat guy on Lost still fat?

Gilligan's Island. It was much more light-hearted. The people who bash daytime dramas (soap operas) are the same ones who watch shows like..."Prison Break" and "Lost." They are shows that are MUST WATCH & NEVER MISS because you you are hooked and don't want to miss a second.
You didn't have that problem with Gilligan's Island. It was just fun to watch. (This way, you can actually have a life & NOT have it revolve around the tv schedule.)

LOST is way better, and I grew up watching Gilligan's Island. It was entertaining but hardly realistic!
LOST isn't necessarily realistic but the puzzles and mysteries and possibilities are very challenging, and everyone who watches seems to have a different theory about what's going on with the island, why they're there, etc.
As for Hurley's weight, remember they've only been on the island about 90 days. Jorge Garcia HAS lost weight but when you're standing next to people who weigh less than 150#, his bodily changes are going to be hard to see.

Both were great shows for their time but Gilligan's Island played longer and played up to its watchers Thur comedy and the beauty of the Ladies on the show.

Gilligan's Island is more realistic; the dramatic issues consumed us week after week, dilemma stacked on dilemma, mystery enshrouded in double jeopardy .., like the time the Cosmonauts landed, then the spy from..., wherever it was.., and then there was a dictator who attempted to take over the Island but thanks to the intelligence and cool collective ingenious thinking, the dictator was over thrown and sent back to where he came from.
I'm still having nightmares over the gorilla and the head hunters! <>
But - LOST, does have its merits. One funny show. Okay - strange.., not funny. How's that?
