do you ever feel unsatisfied that people never comment on what you say? i mean sometimes i take a while to think about an asn a question, and when i'm done it's so unsatisfying because i have know idea if that person has gotten the mesg.
also the answers that you people give are mostly the WORST..i suppose to this question you'd say "i enjoy just knowing that i'm helping someone" or something so off toppic, and so annoying....sooo i'm hoping that on some level someone will understand what i'm getting at.

This site has been described as "my space meets jepardy (sp? sorry!)" and that's true. You get all kinds here. Years ago you had to be very smart and technically oriented to get online, but now it's a lot more democratic. It's no longer just the top percentiles in intelligence who can get online. Half the population is below normal in intelligence, and many of them can get online. So the quality here is a reflection of the quality of intelligence in the general population.

One thing that annoys me is when people post questions that they don't really want answers to, they just want someone to agree with their preconceived notions. It seems to happen a lot in Society and Culture and its subcategories. You can give a nice well thought answer but if they don't happen to agree with you, it doesn't matter how reasonable your case is or how well you made your case. On the other hand, in my other favorite hangout, Science and Mathematics, there's a lot of people who just want you to do their homework for them. They have no idea what the answer is, and they don't care. They just want to avoid thinking and learning and using their mental muscles. It's a little scary, that we're supposed to be the smartest species, in terms of higher level or meta-intelligence, yet so many of us go to such efforts to avoid using our higher levels of intelligence.

i wouldn't say i'm not satisfied with the answers, but when you post a question that is open to the public to answer, you should be open to all of the different kinds of answers that will come in and unfortunately, some people really do just say something stupid to get their 2 points. if you have a serious question that you want a real, serious answer to, you should go to a different source. this is just for fun
