This is my first winter here. I am plagued with unbelievable dry skin. Also, sinuses are very dry. I have baseboard, radiator heat. Will one of those humidifiers really help me out. I am sure they only cover so many square feet & you probably have to own several of them. For the amount of money I spend on body lotion now, I probably should invest in one of these. Will they really help? Anybody use them?

Real culture shock huh? First you can get moisture in the air by putting containers of water near the heat source in especially the bedroom where you sleep and spend lots of down time breathing. Also hang clothes and any washing around the house when possible to add moisture. Put a pot on teh stove and add water with some cloves or cinnamon to smell up the house. Keep on low when home and of course turn off when out. Drink water, tea, and liquids to keep your insides hydrated. Use baby oil in the bath or on a washcloth at the end of your shower to hold in moisture, don't slip. Turn the heat down at night to a comfortable but cooler temp while sleeping to keep moisture from being dried up. You can buy a humidifier but it needs to be cleaned every three days to prevent mold. You can just buy a childs vaporizer, a cool air one to use in the bedroom and clean it often too. It is cheaper and just as effective. The bedroom is the place it's needed most. But you can move the vaporizer easier from room to room. Good luck.

Baseboard, radiator heat is steam heat so it shouldn't be dry. Usually dry heat is from a furnace not a steam radiator. Anyway, a humidifier does work wonders just research them because many just breed mold with the moisture build up.
There are also humidifiers that you can hook up directly to the heating system. This is what I grew up with and it worked best.

Having resided in NJ for most of my life, I can tell you that while a humidifier will do wonder for your skin, nothing will replace good old water in a decent quantity ( about8 glasses a day). Try lubriderm (not only awesome for dry skin but also used on burn victims with grafts).

PS: you think dry skin in the winter is rough? try oily skin in the NJ summer - and on a side note ... go to Seaside Heights - Midway steaks for the best cheese stake that side of Philly - and Pt. Pleasant for the best daquiri's *S* ... have fun in NJ (miss summers there)

They do help alot. I only had one in my bedroom and that really helped. Try saline spray or neti pot treatments for the dry sinuses. I get cracked skin from dryness (constantly washing my hands because of the kids) and Gold Bond Ultimate Lotion works great at clearing it up. Welcome to NJ!

properly including your degree in nursing you are able to highly a lot bypass everywhere in the country you want as there's a scarcity of nurses. i have heard that in Hawaii you'll get a huge signing bonus of like 10 or 15k plus they are going to pay for the downpayment on a house in case you want to purchase one. Chicago is a cool city yet I moved out of the city and could not in any respect bypass again. I stay in a interior of sight suburbs, i imagine it is the thanks to bypass. in the city gasoline is about $2 more beneficial expensive, cigarettes are about $5-$6 more beneficial expensive. there is an 11% sales tax on each and everything you purchase, there is luxury taxes on eating places and motels, gasoline receives taxed two times, there's a bottle water tax of 5 cents on each and every bottle. that is getting too expensive and taxes have become too severe to stay n Chicaog. in case you stay in a suburbs you get each and each and every of the benefits of the nightlife, activities communities, restauratns and not one of the complications or costs of Chicago. Plus in case you intend to have a vehicle plan to spend abuot $2 hundred a month on parking. i'd completely commerce places with you and stay in a beachtown, more beneficial advantageous climate, medical pot, warm Californai ladies, now that i imagine about it i'd flow lol
