Footballs are now very advanced technologically, and the tournament balls are have superior designs that make them lighter and favour attackers. There IS a noticable difference in kicking a replica ball and a tournament ball, although this difference lessens after a few games, which is why professional leagues use new balls every game. The brand name has NOTHING to do with why some balls are considerabley more expensive than the replicas, its all ro do with whats inside the ball.

They don't feel comfortable kicking the image of their messiah around in the dirt. Remember the cartoons that caused such a problem? The US could have easily prevented the problem in the first place by simply being conscious of their culture. Christians would probably be peeved if they were attacked and necklaces with upside down crosses were given out as 'goodwill' momentos.

BEcause of brand names, and quality. I don't know exactly how to explain how the quality is better, but it just is. I have noticed that the good Nike or Adidas soccer balls usually last a lot longer than the Walmart brand ones that ony cost a few bucks. It's just a matter of taste I guess.

Some are more professional then others...you probably wouldn't be using $20 soccer balls in the FIFA World Cup..

Believe me, as an ex-professionall player I guarantee there is very little or no difference between those. Try to go for official size and weight and try to stay away from those that are too glossy and slippery - it will be hard to trap, spin, or roll those kinds of balls.

The 100$ balls are official game balls :) They are easier to kick and dribble with. They will not slip out from under your feet and they will not fly 30 metres away from where you intendet to kick unless you suck.

Same reason people buy mikes when you get the same quality at k mart for $15, and the kmart ones come in wide sizes. Same reason people buy sony when Cannon is better.
