What year is your Legacy? If maintained properly I have seen Subaru's with over 200,000 miles on them. I have a '93 with 188,000 miles. Check to make sure any after market parts especially electrical will not void the warranty. Read the manual and check with your dealers service manager on that and have him give you it in writing. I used to ba a service adviser at Subaru shops and have seen Subaru void warranties for after markets parts.

At http://www.subaru.com, the only place I see GPS for a Legacy is the car you are looking at. "Touch-screen GPS Navigation System Package (optional with 2.5 GT Limited Sedan with automatic transmission only)." It is not available with any standard transmission and it is not available with the wagon.

Of course, you can buy any aftermarket GPS (TomTom, Garmin, etc.) and add them yourself. Many people prefer to do this, because the Subaru option costs $2,500 and portable GPS units start at under $500. You can find reviews of various units at Yahoo! Shopping or Amazon or Consumer Reports.

Our son has a TomTom and loves it. Plus - it can be used with Bluetooth as a handsfree device linked to your cell phone.

I'll let others answer about longevity, but Subaru certainly has a reputation for long life cars.
