try the bleach.

i was told by both plumbers and the sewer guy that you should pour a gallon of household bleach down each drain on a regular basis.

do it at night and let it sit. run the HOTTEST water possible down the drain the next day.

it cleans drains of gunk, grease and crap faster than anything.

i have had no more problems since i started doing this a year ago.

DON'T use products like DRAINO. they will wreck your pipes no matter what the bottle says.

That is a very interesting thought. If you can put the cola down the drain quick enough so it doesn't lose all of its carbonation quickly, I suppose that by plugging the drain with a stopper you might be able to unclog a drain with the force of the released carbonation.

Ingenious! I'll have to try it.

To answer your question tho... I don't think it would have any negative impact on any of the plumbing

Pour in baking soda, then cheap vinegar. Works great! Or, stop up the overflow hole with duct tape, then plunge. We didn't have to call a plummer because we used the latter method. Good luck! :) Arum

Removes tarnish from the rim around the drain opening. But I think it will require more than a liter.

I recommend that you drink the coke, then pour 2 cups of household bleach in the drain and let it set overnight.

The bleach will dissolve hair and any other organic material.
