less then $1,000 , the celeron is what lets it down, the ram is pretty good though

The easiest way to make a computer faster would be add RAM. 512MB is a bit low for XP and really low for Vista. Ram is really cheap right now, and very easy to add. You can do it yourself, no need to pay to have someone add for you. Upgrading to 1GB (that would be another 512 chip = about $60) would change your computer a lot, and if you can fit 2GB (that would be two 1 GB chips = around $150) you would feel like you had a new computer. Check to see how much RAM your computer can take, and what type. This can be found on the manufactures web site, or many electronic stores can look it up for you. Good Luck...

Something in the range of $500 at the most, and that's if it's from a reputable dealer of refurbisher. If it's just some guy selling a computer, I wouldn't pay more than $300.

As the other guy said, $300 max, as you can get a brand NEW dual core with all the options for $6-800 after rebate.
