I was advised by my doctor to just wash with warm water. If you use soap, use Dove since it has some moisturizer in it. You don't want your nipples dried out before baby is born, if you plan on breastfeeding you want them nice and soft since they withstand some "trauma" from the baby the first week or so. Its ok if the colostrum leaks and dries up, although I've been washing it off in the showers since obviously foreign liquid on our boobs isn't the most sexy feeling (I am 35 weeks pregnant with my 2nd). Hope that helps!

Soap dries up the nipples so washing them w/soap regularly is a bad idea..Its regular and its pre-milk called collostrum just wear some breast-pads to stop it from going thu your clothes

No, it's okay to wash them. If they get sore you can put a warm towel around them. But the only thing you need to worry about is putting the padding in your bra so they don't leak through onto your shirt. That's it. Oh and if they get dry you can put Vaseline to help with any cracking or itching.

Washing them would be the most number #1 thing you should do in this case (if your at work I'd recommend "lansinoh's" sterile cleansing pads). Second would have to be buy you some disposable breast pads (i'd recommend the brand "lansinoh") to avoid stains in your clothes. Then you would most probably like to apply some lanolin (preferrably the "lansinoh" brand too) to stop your nipples from cracking up...

it is perfectly normal, I could squirt a good three feet at the end of both of my pregnancies. Treat them as you usually do, washing with soap is fine both now and once you start nursing.

Best way to take care is just wash and keep it clean. Do not try to express as it may stimulate your body to release hormone oxytocin which inturn causes your uterus to contract . so less stimulation is best.

normal washing is fine.......they have pads that you can put in your bras to catch the leak so it doesn't stain clothing
