No someone else should have been given a shot. She should not make it through on American Idol she had her big moment and I'm sure she will be getting record deals.

I dunno....
American Idol was probably taped BEFORE she won the Grammy thing.
I heard an interview with her for a Houston radio station (a few weeks ago) and they were asking her if she ever tried out for American Idol and she was real evasive in her answer... like "well, maybe... you'll see..."
so, you can't really blame her for trying out for all she's potentially eligible for at the time.
she's ambitious.
and definitely talented.
