For those who came (or their parents) from another country, what was the attitude when it comes to physical discipline? Is it common?

no. but when i do something really stupid ,like screaming at my mom and talking back, i get slapped like there's no tomorrow.

oh, and she will also beat the crap out of me too.

Very common. It's more common to get a whupping in a Southeastern US home than it is in most others. Could explain our better manners ;)

it is something that my Husband uses when i go wrong

it is very common in the culture we are part of

it helps me to learn and teaches me how to behave
