Just do some more research and show her that you can be responsible. Leopard Geckos are fairly easy to care for and they make really good pets. If it were me, I would do enough research to be able to show my parents that I could care for it without any trouble and then slowly start to look at them in pet stores. Ask if her why and then have a counter proposal.

you will desire to randomly spew out leopard gecko information. Like; leopard gecko's in basic terms require a 20 gal long tank? i think of which you will desire to make a huge care sheet, tutor it to her, and additionally: BE to blame around the homestead! Do extra chores, and tell her you truly need one and have been studying for a protracted time.

This is for your mom.

Hey Mom,

I'm 52 years old and I love reptiles. Geckos are small and won't grow to be more than 4 to 6 inches long. As long as your teenager takes care of it, It could be a good project for them. If they don't take care of it any pet store will be glad to take it back.

These lizards are like the little anoles (chameleons) you see out side. Geckos just get a little fatter.

Don't just look at a website. Save your pennies and buy a book or two or three about them. Let her see how interested you are in them. If you have any "you choose the subject" reports to do at school do them on leopard geckos, don't mention -anything- about how much you want one, simply tell what you know about them. Don't have any "you choose the subject" reports at school? Do one for the heck of it. Let her see, not just how much you want one, she knows that already. Let her see how much you -know- about them and about what they need. Ask for one again closer to your birthday. Don't pester her with it, and DO NOT get one anyway, I've seen that go the wrong way.

Your best bet is to prove to your mom you have done the research to take care of it and she should see how serious you are about getting one. Asking a million times won't get you anywhere but proving you are ready for one will.

Get one anyway? I begged and begged for mice in high school and my mother wouldn't think of it. Then one day I asked my dad to take me to the pet store and get me some mice. So we went and I brought them home and mom flipped out, but she didn't make me get rid of them. I pretended they were for a science experiment!

Look for a site with information about them, explaining all the good things this pet has to offer(leave out the bad things)

maybe your mom doesn't like reptiles and really doesn't want one in the house and you have to accept that. don't go to her and beg to her and ask why not? why not? why not? why not? it will just annoy her. maybe you can get differnt kind of pet. or in a nice unbugging tone ask her calmly why you can't.
