I'm 21 yrs. old and I'm going to a family members funeral Saturday. It's COLD as hell here, snow is everywhere, and I can't wear a dress, What should I wear? I have pants, but I don't know how to coordinate them with my boots. Thanks in advance

I am also 21 and have been to a couple funerals this year and i've work dark grey, black, browns and even navy. A BIG LESSON I HAVE LEARNED IS THAT it is okay to wear dark colors without it all being black. If you have them, wear black leather boots that you can wear under black or dark grey dress pants. Finish it off with a black sweater. My own personal opinion is that I will only dress in ALL BLACK if the relative or friend was very close to me. Most importantly, dress warm. Also, don't wear anything too revealing.
I am sorry for your loss. My condolences. ;*(

People pretty much wear what they want anymore. I would suggest dark pants and a dark blouse. You don't have to wear black anymore. Many people go with gray or purple. But you can really wear most anything. I usually don't wear anything too bright. Like red, yellow and orange aren't really a good idea. But even a white blouse would be fine. Maybe you have a nice sweater that you could wear with the boots. If it's cold and snowy, most people realize that you don't wanna freeze. You are there to pay your respects. Not to be on display. Sorry for your loss.

i attended my great grandmother's funeral on friday afternoon in the pouring rain in napa, california. I wore black and white hounds tooth knee lenght skirt, red sweater, black trench coat, and knee high black boots. I was very appropriate compared to the rest of the crowd.

I do not believe in wearing blah dreary clothes to a funeral. If you have a nice sweater to go with pants, maybe leather jacket or other warm coat, some nice scarf, gloves etc. and your boots, you are just fine. You didn't mentioned what kind of boots so I am assuming this will be OK.

my condolences go out to you and your family.

Just tuck your pants into your boots. Wear a black jacket with anything you want underneath, unless you'll take it off for some reason. Nobody will really care about what you wear because everybody is there for the beloved person who has died.
