how can i find information about if i can keep a found phython?

I have a reptile licence and have had the snake checked by the vet.

depends on if it is a wild animal or not. If wild, would be illegal to keep it, if it is someones released or escaped pet then you would be able to keep it.

Where are you? The rules about wildlife vary from country to country. In Australia you may not keep wildlife unless you have a licence to care for injured animals.
