I need to know what the term news package means in tv production

Its a finished news story that goes to air. A package (PKG) usually includes a standup report, b-roll video with the reporters voice over the video (track) and sound bytes of people involved with the story. They all make about about a 1 minute to 2 minute piece (although they can be any length)
