Hi I too was not informed of the risk of having problems conceiving. I had 2 shots and decided to stop it. It took me 6 months to get a period and after some further testing it became apparent that I am not ovulating ( I Have 2 other children) so i was placed on clomid I have just finished my 5 day course and am now waiting for my most fertile period in 6-12 days to have intercourse. So if you are interested in becoming pregnant in the next 2 years I would stop now as it can take that long to become pregnant. As a matter of fact If I were you I would use another form of birth control.

Unfortunately that is a possible risk of using the shot. Doctors will not tell you this most of the time but using the shot for a long period of time can definitely make it hard to conceive.

Yes, & my dr never told me either. I was on it for 18m & it took me 18m to concieve afterwards. It actually causes your uterus to atrophy, so it has to come back up to size before you even have a chance to concieve. My dr told me however long on it's going to take at least that long to concieve after. Also I had a lot of bad & irregular bleeding after stoping. I am considering taking it again after this baby is born, but only because we may be done w/ babies & I think it is a good LOOOOONG term bc.

It all depends on the person. It can take up to 18 months for your period to get back to normal after you stop gettting the shot, or you could be back to normal right away.

I had one shot.. It took me OVER 18 months to conceive after. It is a side effect. Google it and you will find out all the information.
