It looks like typical Selig....avoid answering questions about the issues confronting baseball. If he pretends problems dont exist then maybe everyone will forget only this time he will likely overthink the situation and get even more scrutiny from the media (they have jumped on the story so far). Selig is nothing more than a puppet with no real power and the owners love that he is an eager whipping boy for them (after all they made his family unbelievably rich and all he has to do is pretend he is a leader....good work if you can get it I suppose). I think he should be forced to attend every game that Barry has a chance at the record, those 2 deserve each others suffering.

It means Selig is dodging another bullet. He set up this problem by not implementing a steroid policy earlier and now he is facing the consequences. Bud Selig is the worst commishiner in the history of sports.

Selig is just being himself all wishy washy doesnt want to choose a side. He either needs to go to the game and accept that Bonds breaks the record, or he needs to flat out say that he thinks Bonds is a cheater. Right now, I think he's just hoping Bonds ends up in jail or tears his shoulder or something.

It simply means that Bud Selig is unsure that this would interfere with his hairdresser appointment.

He realizes that he cannot prevent the inevitable from happening but he also realizes that he cannot publicly support that occurrence, thus he cops the equivalent of a nolo contendre plea.

By not attending he makes himself look like an a$$. If Bonds breaks the record, he MUST acknowledge it.
