I have some poems i would like to be published, how do I go about it?

I have written several poems would like to have them published in book for for my mother, how do I go about doing this?

You may start one of three ways: 1. try internet e-zine submissions via a simple google search. 2. Purchase Poets Market and narrow your search to journals and presses that seem to publish work similar to your own. 3. Bypass all editors and self-publish by paying a Vanity Press.
The key to publishing is to write something good, and then find the right niche for it. Many people write, some even write well, but the few poets that get read manage to write well and navigate the world of publishing.
