Buy some stuff called Krudd Kutter from K-mart, or Lowes. It is water based and works!

We have a couch just like that & we use carpet cleaner on the stains our 1 year old leaves...it works great! We use the OxyClean brand.

Try using hairspray! Use a soft clean light colored cloth after spray the area - scrub it with the cloth NOT a scrub brush or anything else hard though.
