well bieng a charger fan i was kinda hoping marty would be released but it coudnt have come at a worse time.the reason for his firing was he had two play off games and lost both of them and coudnt get along with the genaral manager aj smith who has stacked up the chargers like a world champion poker player stacking his chips.anyhow ron rivera jimmy johnston and cower are mentioned as possible hc's.i think if we got jimmy johnston we woudnt lose a game for the next five years.the charger battleship only need a captain that can lead it to battle and let the ship win the war.just dont ground it like ol marty.anyhow good luck to marty and what do you fans think of this amazing breaking news?

Whatever. That is how I feel.

The new coach though is inheritting a VERY good team. if Foley can come back from his gunshot wounds, Merriam can play off the juice (not insulting here), the team will be awesome on both sides!!

Tomlinson is great, Rivers needs 1 break out wide receiver (I think) to go along with Gates to have 1 of the deadliest offenses in the league.

It was pretty poor timing, since a lot of the available coaches out there worth anything already signed with other teams. If they were serious about the good of the team, they should have pulled the trigger sooner. Now they will be scrambling to find someone and likely it won't be a stellar candidate... if the coach really is the problem, then that won't do a lot of good getting someone mediocre... and if they do end up with a coach that doesn't have long term potential, they are going to have to go coach hunting yet again in another season... and whoever they get now is gonna know that the potential is strong that the job will only be for a year. Can't see too many takers on that one, especially coming into a "office politics" situation.

I hate to assert it, yet certain. he's basically too set in his approaches. At this aspect is only a determine head. He does no longer placed on a headset. How does he furnish enter? As a head coach you are able to not attempt this. i grow to be blown away that they lost an similar way they lost the Jets recreation in 2004. I keep in suggestions at the same time as he had the decision a million seed in KC and made an similar blunders. He basically can not enable bypass of Marty Ball. It grow to be glaring they made no 0.5 time alterations in the course of the game. i'm no longer a professional NFL participant. I did play in college and that i even understand that the matchups were no longer operating. He had a recreation plan that he basically refused to regulate for. The Patriots were waiting to exhibit the weak spot with the blitz and the corners were getting uncovered. the middle of the container grow to be huge open and that confirmed the Patriots the position to bypass. Why on earth when you intercept the ball attempt to run with it once you're coated? stupid consequences, the communities thoughts were too severe and Marty because the coach did not ring them in and regain their concentration. there grow to be poor clock administration in the 4th quarter. ultimately it falls on the coach. Marty did not do sufficient to enable his crew win. through no longer kicking the container purpose. He did not supply the Chargers a probability to win. With 14-2 record and residential container earnings waiting. it is inexcusable. no less than he must have gained that recreation. i trust if he a minimum of gained that recreation people and administration would have forgiven him. As a Charger fan i am going to not in any respect forgive him for that absolute crap of a recreation plan. the guy needs to bypass and he needs to retire and stay retired. i'm fascinated about giving Cam a shot. I basically desire he does no longer educate to be like the St. Louis Rams experienced with Mike Martz. tremendous coordinator yet no longer a marvelous head coach. Norv Turner an similar way. you basically not in any respect understand? i imagine the Chargers must be ill to imagine of each and each and every of the what that is. the base line is Marty grow to be out coached on each and every aspect. understanding the Spanos kinfolk they gained't fireplace him. he will step down after a million more beneficial 3 hundred and sixty 5 days and could in all probability retire or bypass into television or Radio. Cam or per chance Cowher must be the subsequent Chargers coach in 08.

I honestly think it was one of the dumbest moves in football to let Schottenhemer go, especially for the reason given by management. The coach can't get along with the front office? Was it because they didn't get him some of the players he needed to get to the Super Bowl? Marty has been one of the hardest working coaches in the NFL. At every stop he's been to he has had success. The Chargers are very narrow minded to think that they can replace him so easily. The owner should have replaced the higher powers in the organization for not working with Marty more. I think the Chargers will regret the day they got rid of him because he got the most out of his players. Good Luck Marty!!

Yes. It was a horrendous decision by the Chargers front office. They have lost their offensive and defensive coordinators,a now now their head coach, all in less than a month. This will come back to haunt them badly. It was Phillip Rivers' fault they didn't get in the Super Bowl. Oh yeah, and guess who their QB would've been had it not been for their fron t office? Drew Brees, 2nd in MVP voting last season. I think they need a change in the front office, or at least a head examination

It was a good move to can that overrated, awful head coach.

Marty was too uncomfortable coaching a team that had Super Bowl talent, since he'll never get close. He was exposed. Give him a bad team, he'll go 10-6. Give him a 15-1 team, he'll go 14-2 and lose when it matters.

The only thing bad was the timing. Who the hell can they get now to coach this team?

I think the Patriots kicked their "FAVORITE" @$$3$ in the Divisional Championship game, haha. But yeah, a lot of coaches left this year. It happens. They still have LT, Rivers, Neak, and Gates...yeah...who needs Marty?
