I prefer Science Diet, but Iams is good as well. Dont listen to all that crap about vets only push it because they get paid to, its a lie. I am the manager of an emergency clinic and in charge of all the ordering, I know for a fact we dont get any kind of "kickback", and if these big companies paid for vets schooling, there would be a lot less doctors with student loans out there, dont you think? Yes, these diets are more expensive than some you would buy at a grocery store, but they are also of higher quality and have gone through a lot more rigorous testing.

Science Diet!! IAMS is more of a generic brand. Things you can find at the supermarket.
Where Science Diet can only be bought at a pet store or local Vet.

the reason vets reccomend poor quality food like this in a lot of cases is because they aere paid to or their schooling was funded by these companies. Alot of people have suggested Nutro. I agree. my dog used to have dull fur and alot of dandruff. within 2 weeks there was a huge diffrence. people comment all the time about how shiney his coat is. Also his teeth look better, he has more energy, eyes are clearer, he has sloid poo(and less because he actually uses what he is eating)

Both foods are very poor quality as they use by-product meat and only 1/3 of the food is even that.

Read the labels on the food bags (and not grocery store food) - the first two ingredients (60% of the food) should be wholesome, human-grade meat and the third will be a filler such as brown rice, millet, oats, pea etc. - not corn.

personally.. neither. science diet is mostly filler and vets push it because they get profited. Nutro is awesome. i use it on my chihuahuas and great danes. they have better coats and skin. less poop because they are absorbing more of the food instead of making waste. it costs a lot but they dont eat as much as fast. and has a great guarantee if you decide you dont like it.. but you will!!

Both are garbage, do a search and read about ingredients. Anything you get in a grocery store are poor quality. Ask the manager at a pet supply store for a recomendation.

Neither. They are both crap that is full of corn and by-products, and the price that you pay is for the name. Purina ONE is a lot better and is cheaper, and Nutro is an okay food but my dogs had a lot of trouble with it.

We feed our dog Iams and our cats Science Diet. I think they are comparable nutritionally. Our vet seems to think they're both good foods.

OK here are my thoughts about both of those food. I don't recomend either of them. I like the more natural foods but they can be expensive. Also look at NUTRO food they are very good.
I've raised all my goldens on NUTRO and they are beautiful and their coats are shinny, NUTRO also makes a Natural line of food too.
