If you can trust what ehow.com says:
"Standard two-panel sliding glass patio doors come in total widths of 60 inches (5 feet), 72 inches (6 feet) and 96 inches (8 feet). Some makers offer three-panel sliding doors that are 108 inches (9 feet) in total width, and 144 inches (12 feet) in total width. All of those dimensions refer to the OUTSIDE DIAMETER of the siding glass door framing, or basically the hole the whole shebang needs to fit into, btw.

standard crap artists say 80 and then say a 79 1/2' is custom. It's 79 1/2".

80 inches high and either 6 or 8 foot wide. Most common in use is the 6 foot wide.
