I married a guy I was settling for. I remember standing in front of the justice of the peace and it was like the little cartoon angel was on one shoulder and devil on the other (conscience).
One said "NO! STOP! Don't do this!"
The other said "Shut up, it'll be okay!"
The marriage lasted 17 months before we split up, and divorce occured at 23 months. That was a decade ago...I will never "settle" again.

yes and it was not all that bad at the start you just feel like sort of you have nothing to lose and then there is that everyone needs someone sort of mentality going on but I can say that it lasted longer than I thought it would I got married twice like that and both times i knew when I was doing it that I did not love them but then no guy will tell you this but it is different with guys more than it is with women, we can do and we do it all the time

It was passionless. I felt like I was watching myself get married and hoping that someone would tell me I was making a mistake because I didn't want to embarass myself by admitting it. I cared about him and we were friends, it just wasn't love and I knew it, especially looking back.

why??
Why would you marry someone you didnt love or have any intention of spending the rest of your life with?????
I for sure wouldnt want to be "stuck" with someone I didnt al least Like a whole lot...
but then again i do know someone who did marry someone she didnt love...but that was for money...her lifes ambition has been to find someone to support her and take care of her so she didnt have to work...now shes on divorce # 2.......
that tells you something...its true even money cant buy happiness.....or marriage.

yes i did and now im divorced.
i just didnt really look at him cos i was crying.
i had his child, but he was very cruel to me, and i married him because he basically forced me to so he wouldnt have to pay child support for a 9 yr old child he already had by someone else. i was in a trapped situation livimg in the same house, with a tiny baby and no place else to go , no car , no money... so there you have it.

i couldn't tell you personally except my Mother married my Father and he loved her deeply....she on the other hand never loved him, but she was a good actress for a while.
If you know someone who is about to do this THINK ABOUT IT!
This choice of my Mothers resulted in a terrible childhood for me as she despised me being his daughter....and she eventually kept me from him, lying to me of his existance....families got destroyed...emotions run deep....our decisions today really can affect others tomorrows.

That'd be so hard ...
I was almost trapped in this situation, but thankfully I got out in time, though it "just" took me 5 years of relationship to realize that haha!

90% of all married men will tell you that they don't think they loved their wives when they were married. And for now most will tell you they love their wives now but they are not in love with them now.
