chances are, if you are a good friend, you should tell her. wouldnt you want to be told if you were in the same situation? try suggesting you go out shopping for makeup and while in the drugstore, suggest she try a different deodorant. or, give her a small gift box with some perfume samples. take her to someplace quiet, and private. you dont want to tell her where others can hear and make fun or interrupt. tell her you care about her and that sometimes she has some body odor. then tell her that you are telling her this because you're friends and you dont want someone else telling her rudely or by her finding out b/c of a rumor or some other insulting way. if shes really down, ask her to confess something thats been bugging her about you. but dont get into a fight over it. remind her that you're doing this because you're her friend. then suggest ways she could get rid of that BO (shower after gym in school, deodorant/perfume, body mist, etc)
hope this helps and good luck... im glad you care about your friend

Truthfully, there basically no other way. I was kinda in the situation once.
Start with asking them if they were DEO. or perfume. If they say no then try suggesting that.

If that doesn't work then just try and TELL them straight up. Its basically the only way. But don't be all snappy like "YOU STINK!! GROSS!" Just be like "You aren't smelling to great. What have you been doing today?" Try and break it down and sugar coat it alittle bit.

If they are really your friend then you should be able to be honest with them and they still be your friend.

Just calmly take her to the side with no one around and tell her that you dont want to be rude but you smell kind of bad.

It's a tough one. My friend has a serious odour problem as well. I carry deoderant in my bag and if she's too overpowering, I put some on and offer her some while I'm at it.

You may start by asking her if she has been ill-- sometimes that could cause an odd odor....

It might hurt........But that's why your her friend, and if she can't handle u tellin her that, then there's no trust or bond in your friendship, which is the most important!!

TELL HER AND SAY 'I AM NOT TRYING TO HURT UR FEELINGS OR BE RUDE' AND IF SHE STILL GETS MAD, CALL HER the same day AND APOLIGIZE...
