My boyfriend and I are considering getting a membership at our local swimming pool. However, we were wondering: is there any particular rules on what to wear? Do boys have to wear speedo-type swimsuits? Cos they re just wrong...

That depends on the regulations at the place you're going to. But likely they'd advise your boyfriend to buy some actual swimming shorts, not the bikini briefs as you've suggested. As said before, he'd look like a goof in a public pool, especially now the high-end competitive swimming suites actually cover most of the body to smooth out body irregularities and make smooth movements.

Yes, proper swim attire is required, in other words you can't have your *** or his *** exposed. If he wants to show off his package in a speedo that's fine but he will look pretty stupid at a public pool. I was a life guard for 4 years, and was on diving and swim teams. I wore speedos for competition. Only morons wear them at public pools.
