When you plug the flash to the laptop it usually auto detect, if it don't, you must open comp explorer and see if the there's new drive in my computer. If it don't show there's two possibilities flash disk damaged (check with other comp to make sure), Laptop USB connector problem.

Go to my computer and check for your flash drive. If it's not threre than download and install a driver. From the first computer select copy music. On your laptop then click Rip or copy music from CD. You should have the music now.

ignore coastgirl, stupidity. how did you save them onto your flash drive? have you tried saving the music onto a compressed (zipped) file? if you haven't, then right click the your screen. when the menu pops up, go down to new, and click on Compressed (zipped) file. drag the songs you want into the file. when you're done, save it onto your flash drive. when you open the file on your laptop, you should be able to drag it onto your iTunes, windows media player, or RealPlayer library. good luck!
