1. The best place is a groundfloor clothes shop in Toa Payoh Hub. Sorry can't remember name and exact address. But it sells winter jackets, sweaters, track pants real cheap. I got a really good jacket for only $10 and a thick bathrobe for only $8 there.
2.Another good place are the various Export Shops (eg Holland Village, Tanglin Mall). But you do have to just try your luck as not always got good items there.
3.Sometimes I also see the winter clothes adverts in the newspapers, Straits Times. They appear regularly. These are the winter clothes warehouses.
4.There is also a good winter clothes shop in United Square.

For cheap & brand new winter clothings, you must visit FOOK ON. An old, reowned but famous winter wear's shop stragetically located at South Bridge Road. Another outlet is at People's Park Complex, Level 2. Fook On has a whole range of affordable winter wear like cloaks, sweaters, windbreakers, gloves, socks, mufflers etc. And if you buy more, they'll give you a better price. Usually, I bought my winter wear at Fook On only because their services are good.

sorry i don't know where but if you are going overseas to study...you can always get it from that country as it will be cheaper too. go to places like salvation army - they have nice winter clothing and at a very cheap price
