If you had it done: does the hair grow again? Did you end up with a scar? How many times did you have to do it? Was it expensive?

Laser hair removal works best on fair skinned people with dark hair as the laser has to be able to distinguish between the hair and the skin.

The laser feels like a little pin prick as it target each hair and skin redness is normal for a couple of hours after each session.

Several sessions are usually required to treat any specific area, but this is dependent on the strength of the hair growth.

Some people do experience hair regrowth after to 12-18 months. You should check with your salon/clinic as to their policy regarding this.

There are also home laser hair removal kits available. The Rio uses a safe 808nm diverging diode laser and has been clinically tested. Its manufactured in the U.K by a reputable company.

DIY laser hair removal kits do take longer as the laser isn't as strong as a salon laser, but they do definitely work. Furthermore, you can save yourself a fortune.

my sister started laser two weeks ago, she went back yesterday for her second treatment. it is quite expensive €200 a treatment but after 2-4 treatments the hair grows back finer and in small patches. She said it feels like an elastic band snapping on her face and a quick flash of light is a shock. call into a salon and have a consultation, they will do a skin test and answer any questions you have. keep in mind that some salons will want a doctors letter agreeing to the laser.

I have Beauty Therapist friends who do this treatment and they say that it works better on dark hair and you may need several sessions to remove hair completely because it grows in different stages. It is non-invasive so you wont scar and the pain is exactly like an elastic band snapping on your skin. It can be expensive - but when you think about how much you will spend on razors, creams or waxing over the years it probably works out cheaper. Salons offer discount for booking blocks of sessions too.
