I would not worry so much about sitting up. Your baby will probably be sitting up by themselves by 7 or 8 months.
Remember each baby develops their motor skills at different ages.

Babies attain the balance to sit unassited around 6-8 months. My neice crawled a full month before she ever sat up. It's ok!

No my baby is almost 6 months and he can sit up but with some help not alot but he likes to hold on. My last doctors appointment he said that everything was fine ;)

don't worry, my daughter start to sit up in middle of 7 month i was worried too, but some baby's take time...and 5 month is early for baby to sit up...

of cource not. all babys are different and i no how would i no cause im only 14 but i babysit all the time and there was a 10 month old who couldnt walk yet so dont worry your baby is goin 2 be fine!

oh no... never not all .....babys do certain things at the differrent times ....... u cant base how your baby is progressing on another baby just like some babys walk before they talk...... your baby will soon learn and sometimes u have to help your baby everydayanit may take time but u must be patient..... if u hold your baby up and slowly let go every once and a while they will catch up to it write me back and tell me how its going my email is zb_bear081@yahoo.com ..... i wish u luck

Both my kids sat up at 6 and a half months and started walking just before they turned 1. It's OK he/she will sit when ready to. :-)

No all babies are different when they start doing things. Your baby will be fine. Give him plenty of floor and tummy time. This will help develop his neck muscles. Good luck.

no!! My mum told me when mine were Little......
We spend the first 2 years
teaching them how to walk and talk.
The next 10 telling them to
sit down and shut up..!!!
