I am back to work and my baby will not drink my breast milk from a bottle when I'm gone. I have tried pumping and giving her a bottle once or twice a day to get her used to it and she is refusing it more and more. Help!!!!!

well have you tried the playtex nurser bottles with the drop in liners? the nipples on those are the same shape and softness as the breast so the baby is more comfortable with it. and give her the bottle when she is really hungry, she is less likely to refuse it then. that is what worked for my daughter

My little one did not want to take the bottle either. She still has some problems with the bottle sometimes. We tried about 5 different bottles, the one she will eat out of is Dr Brown standard nipple. These bottles are also good because they reduce amount of air the baby swallows. If she sucks on a pacifier try removing the pacifier and switching it with the bottle. If it does not work try again but do it fast. She might be refusing the bottle not because she does not want it but because the suck is different for the bottle and she does not know how to suck it effectively. My baby would twist her tongue and suck just like a breast until she got frustrated and started crying. If she does not suck the pacifier do it while she is breastfeeding when the feeding slows down and she is almost full or sleepy.
Try giving the bottle at night when she is sleepy that way she is more relaxed and easier accepting to new things. We patient, if she starts crying take the bottle away, calm her down and try again. But don’t force it too much or she will see the bottle as punishment and not take it at all.
Good luck.

It took me a while with my son to get him to take a bottle... it could be something as easy as the shape of the nipple of the bottle. I tried the Playtex ones with the bags... said to be more of a "natural shape" but he didn't like it, then went to a "nuk" shape on a regular bottle and he liked it better... Keep trying.... Its hard to do but let him/her get real hungry before you try and that will get them to try it to find out it's the same thing and its food. Keep trying and don't give in and give them the breast instead.
