Why so much attantion about Barack Obama???

Is it because he is black, and according to democrats "articulate and decent for the first time"?.,

I mean this guy got nothing special, and with this othing, he rocked the political scene like hurricane, and became# 1 topic for liberals. (whate ones). and even here, 20 % of topics - Obama obama obama...

Barack Obama is a good orator. When he speaks, he commands and receives attention, from people outside of the room. Therefore, he has the both the admiration and ire of many. He is new to the political scene, but he looks to be a powerful name for a very long time.

With the world in turmoil over violent religions that are, in some countries, driving the national policy, namely Iran and other Muslim countries, the religion background of a candidate now needs to be explored.

The fact that a religion may now be the driving element of a representative's action, can we now ignore what a candidate's religion is?

Can America afford to have a religion-driven President, particularly if the religion is a violent one that encourages killings and suicides?

In today's world, this is another element that has to be considered by voters. What do you think?

Maybe you should read up on his accomplishments. You are wrong, he is something special, and not because of his skin color, but because of his convictions and willingness to stand by them and to stand up to others. If he is indeed nothing special, why are Republicans so threatened by him and resorting to attacks on things as insignificant as his father's Muslim backround and the fact that his middle name is Hussein?
EDIT: MR. BEEN THERE: We have a religion driven President in office right nowI He has all but turned the US into a Theocracy and forced "Faith-Based Initiatives" down our throats. Why is religion not an Issue with Bush, but Obama's FATHER'S religious backround is? (BTW Obama is a Christian, although that should not matter, either)

He is getting attentions because he just last weekend officially announced running. It might be a good thing to have a president that the lobbyist and corporations did not get to yet. He supports republican trade agreements to much for me so I will watch he carefully. Katrina management happened under Bush watch that is why Liberals made it #1

The truth is the only reason he's getting attention is because he's black. He's even less qualified than John Edwards or Hillary. He only has 2 yrs experience in office and he's gonna waste the rest of that time running for an office he won't make it into. It's too bad the dems will take advantage of their own that way.

I like him because he has a track record that shows his support for the lower and middle class. He is less of a hypocrit as Hilary with the war and healthcare. This guy shows where his priorities lie and they're in line with what the majority of the populations should be. He may not have the experience but he doesn't have a past that involves greed, deception and big business.
