No, it is definetly nonfiction. Anne Frank's father was the only surviving member of the family. Her diary is the actual written passages created by her. Parts of her writing were removed because it was thought that the family would be caused shame. Anne wrote about the confines of their living arrangements and the closeness it brought to her and another female. Also edited out were thoughts on her getting her period. You can find these missing passages online.

Her diary is not fiction. Interestingly enough, 2-3 years ago it came to light that her father had 'edited' her diary by removing many pages before he released it.

After her father passed away, another relative found the missing pages and turned them over to some historical foundation. They were primarily of a sexual nature and also referenced Frank's parents in an unflattering light. I have not read them yet.

It's nonfiction...the entries in the book actually came from the diary that a family friend had found.

Historical non-fiction since it is an actual account of real events not a book based on actual events.

the book is a nonfiction because it's events that happened in reality. Don't need much imagination to find a good story about that time period! Good question tho
