kidding- I honestly don't know. I'm not a great on-line'er. Better on the phone or face to face. Makes for easier /natural flow of information. I can't stand typing some stuff.... waiting for reply.... sending a message back... waiting for reply...

Why not send smoke signals?

Well first of all you should introduce yourself to them. Let them know your there and then if they acknowledge you that's when you should start up a conversation. Find out what thier likes and dislikes are then talk about them. When they talk to you really listen to them and try to answer there questions with answers that really relate to the subject at hand. Most importantly don't let your eyes wonder.

Death penalty...yes or no? Toilet paper...over or under?
What do you do with the milk carton when you empty it?
Have any Federal convictions? If I said you had a beautiful body, would'ja hold it against me?
(Okay...okay...I'm kidding! You did know that, right?)
The best way to get to know somebody is just hang out, spend time with them, talk about whatever comes up. I always ask about music preferences, job, family, pets, etc to open some conversation. Then just wing it.

Video and CAM allows the person to see the real you. Information about you...the little things...hmm...maybe keep a journal of likes and dislikes or what you do on a typical day for a few days and send that to the person...i got up at...i had this for breakfast...i shot the neighbors dog (see that is informative!)

I was going to be a smart a** and say marry them but I'll be nice.
Ask them questions about themselves, stick away from religion and politics at first. Folks always like to talk about themselves
Ask them about hobbies they have
Do they play sports? If not what's their favorite to watch.
Ask about music what kind they like or dislike.
In general be kind and interested and let them speak don't interrupt while they answer.

Time, share experiences, conversations...you won't get to know someone with 1 conversation or a few 'key' questions...give it time...it's the best thing to do. You might be disappointed later...

Just talk to them. Ask questions like their favorite things and stuff. Just talk to them like they're a long time friend.

Surely, I too share, that its not about a few key questions or one deep conversation. Its about time, many conversations and a lot of time together and away. It will bring to light a lot of important things you would like to be aware within your relationship.
