Smoking pot one time will not get you addicted any more than one drink of alcohol will make you an alcoholic. In fact, I don't think there is a clear answer to whether pot can create a physical addiction. I think people mostly get addicted to the feeling of being high and that's why they keep using. So go ahead and try it if you must. Just make sure you aren't going to have to take any kind of drug test for a while.
While I don't believe there is any serious risk from occasional use of pot, just look at the people you know who are "pot heads" - people who smoke weed on a daily basis. Chances are they are a little slow on the uptake and have a kind of spaciness about them.
For the record, the last time I smoked pot was about 19 years ago when I was 14. I looked at the stupid things my pot smoking friends were doing and decided I didn't want to end up like that.

You will NOT get "hooked" after one use of marijuana. Or two or three or a dozen. Marijuana is not very addictive-no where near as addictive as cigarettes.
Now the kicker, do not start smoking pot regularly. Its fine on moderation, but Pot can affect healthy brain development. Especially in teen age years.
So smoke it once a week and you will be fine, stay away from anything heavier than pot...including acid, shrooms, heroine, etc.

One does not get hooked on marijuana. This is a urban legend. If one has a addictive personality that person will get "hooked" on everything that person touches, eats, drinks and the kinds of people they are around.
You are not legal so whats the point? You will just get caught and get in trouble. It sounds like you are young too....
My advice dance to your own tune, think for yourself. Do not give in to peer pressure. We have all been there. If you do not want to don't. To this day I still do not make many friends for I do think for myself and turn down lots of things that I consider not right for me and my family.....
As I said though marijuana is not a addictive drug.

-Marijuana is not physically addicting, but one can become mentally dependent on it.
-You have to watch out, as sometimes people "spike" weed with other substances.
-Today's weed is approximately 20 times stronger than the weed of the 60s and 70sl
-Though marijuana is not really a "gateway" drug in most cases, some people who try it, will feel free to try any other drug that someone offers them.
-If you think that cigarette smoking is a bad thing--realize that marijuana does the same things to your lungs, and does contain tar
-Passing the joint (or pipe, etc) around is leaving you open to catch anything the the other smokers might have (illnesses)

Marijuana is not addictive. I smoke every few months. It is not a hard drug like crack or meth. Do what you feel comfortable with. Don't do it just because your friends do. Marijuana should be legalized! It is great and I love it. Just has to be used in moderation like everything else.

Why risk it. Leave it alone. There are some horror stories out there about people who have tried it. It does strange things to the brain.
Again, LEAVE IT ALONE. Be strong and be firm. You don't want to try it. If those friends leave you because of it, then you are still better off.

Pot generally is not addictive, but it is a sure cure for motivation. Use responsibly if you must use at all. Nobody can argue that it's not a bad and expensive habit that you could probably be happy without.

you wont get hooked on the first time, but heres a warning: youll enjoy the feeling at first, even to the extent to where youll want to feel it again, so then youll take 2 or 3, and BOOM! your hooked. just stay away. i am pretty sure that your aware of what will happen if you get hooke: loss of money, loss of hygiene, major health problems, law difficulty, jail time, etc.
So, just don't do it.

"Hooked?" No, it's not addictive like cigarettes or heroin are. Will you enjoy it and want to do it again? Maybe. Do you need to get new friends who respect your choices and are more supportive? Definately.

no, you wouldn't...but You also wouldn't even probably feel the effects of it... it takes sometimes a few time to get in your system... BUT, YOU should remain 1 of the few and be above the influence... there is no reason to even try it...not worth it... it is better to be above than below...
