I was driving a drunk friend home, and was stopped while driving that person's car.I was charged for driving without a current registration, and expired tags.Everyone that wears a badge does not deserve to wear one. Some are power hungry and believe me racism is very much alive. Will never help a person again. Thanks to our code of laws!

They can, but you can probably fight this in court too. Technically the driver is responsible for anything wrong with the car they are driving, however if you explain you situation in court, and hopefully get your friend to back you up, the judge will likely be a little sympathetic and go easier, or maybe drop it.
Just so you know it's not a points charge on your license (at least in Colorado), just a fine to pay and fix the problem.

Racism is alive, but it has noting to do with the case you describe. If the car's registration is not current, it is illegal for ANYONE to drive it. Expired tags and no current registration are two names for the same thing.

If the money is worth the time, pay the bail, go to court and tell the story to the judge. He can do as he wishes, that is if he likes your story, he can make it go away, or lower the fine. The judge let me off a $300 handicapped paarking fine just because I said it was outside a school and midnight on sunday night. (no school). He said that the law was 24-7 but,...just go home free.

The driver is responsible for the registration and tags of the car. Your race doesn't matter, pay the ticket.
