Actually no, one of my favorite players of all time refused to stand up and come to the podium when his name was announced. Mario Lemieux.

In the 1984 NHL Entry Draft, Mario Lemieux's name was called by the Penguins. He stood up, waved, and sat right back down. Before his final season in the Quebec major Junior Hockey League, he was told by a future agent that he will go to the NHL and sign a contract worth $1 million. When he was drafted, a deal had not yet been reached, so he did not pose with the team jersey. He later ended up getting a deal worth about $900,000 over 2 years, the largest contract ever offered to a rookie at that time.

Lindros did not put on the jersey on the advice of his idiot father. Both of them were/are idiots they didn't want the arrogant little punk to play for a last place team. I was bummed when the Nords moved to Denver but laughed when they won the Cup and Lindros still didn't have one.

i will always hate Lindros for that move no player being drafted should have the right to pick what team they want to play for. and to the guy that said it was Forsberg, well forsberg did put on his jersey but it was a Flyers jersey and the Flyers traded Forsberg for Lindros.
there was another player that did that not to long ago i can't remember his name if i remember i will tell you.
BY THE WAY MY WIFE IS Ojibwe.

I don't think Lindros refused to put on his jersey at the draft, someone that young has a lot of thoughts spinning in their head and that's probably one of the last things on their mind.
but then again he could just be a jerk.

There was one guy who didn't wear the jersey after being selected number one overall-Mario Lemieux-he cried and pissed himself because the Pens didn't have a deal for him by the draft. Any hoot-he was damn good. He made Kevin Stevens look like he belonged in the NHL..hehe
