My friend has a baby that is almost 3 weeks old and she is feeding him 4 oz already every 2 hours. I have a 13 month old and I do not remember her eating near that much at that age. Is is way to much and how do I tell her nicely what to do ( she is a first time mom)

My son has stomach problems and I was feeding him 2-4 oz every 2 hrs and he was 6lbs. 15 oz. so they wanted him to get his weight up b/c Ihis weight decreased after fluid was released, ect. Theri may be a reason that you are not aware of- besides would you want someone telling you what to do with your loved one. Honestly it may hurt her and the doc WILL ask at her next apt how much shes eatign and will tell her professionaly the correct answer. If I were u wouldnt touch that w/ a 10 foot poll, lol. and hormonal- what are the odds she wouldnt be ok w/ u telling her to her face and upset behind your back- just leave it alone- baby will spit up if eats too much- they're good at teaching mommy what's right- when breast feeding you have no idea how much goes iin right!?!

My advice is this, Don't worry to much about it. I have a seven month old son who at that age was drinking the same amount. Every baby is different and as long as her doctors are saying the child is okay then let her continue on as she is doing. Now if her pediatrician suggests less but the child is still acting hungry I was told to offer water instead of formula. Sometimes babies just like the action of sucking and don't really want to eat. Another solution is a pacifier.

Nope, not too much; if they baby is willing to eat it, and isn't spitting it all back in her face, why not? I bet her baby sleeps well. I wonder if she knows, though, that she could probably go at least 3 hours between feedings if he's eating that much.

are u just trying to show how much better of a mom you are? if it isnt broken dont fix it...if the baby is happy and comfortable with it and hungery than its fine. If her docter notices something he/she will tell her

Why don't you mind your own business. Are you a doctor. Are you sure that yours isn't eating too little. What does her doctor, or pediatritiian say, what does yours say. What gives you the right to butt in?????
