Just curious...I give tb (thumbs down)when they are disrespecting the person who asks the question, tu (thumbs up) when they are informative

I fully agree and support your own response.
Additionally, I usually give a thumbs-down if the person has a "toilet mouth" with the language given in a response.
A person can disagree; they don't need to use offense language when doing so.

I give a thumbs up or I leave nothing at all. Any question that deserves a thumbs down usually isn't worth answering.

I'm with you on that. Even if I've asked the question and I find that alot of people give good/great answers and I can't give them all the 10 points I give them a thumbs up.

Thumbs up if it answers a question directly and clearly.
Thumbs down if they are excessively rude about a reasonable question, or if they are unnecessarily offensive to anybody.
I also give thumbs up to reasonable answers in political or religious debates if I can tell that several other people have just thumb-downed anybody they disagree with. I like to balance things out in order to protect the variety of opinions.

I vote thumbs up by how well they answered question. I usually give thumbs down when the answer is just stupid and really rude

There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason for it. I've even seen people give thumbs down on factually correct answers. Personally, I don't pay much attention this feature.
