I know I'm probably going to get many responses with Lebron, but does anyone else have any other opinions?

top five choice

1. Dwayne Wade- the way he scarifice his body on the court just for a basket shows how desperate and determine he is to win. he is a go getter and never gives up !!! to add to that he shows character and good sportsmenship. (MVP)

2. Allen Iverson- Although he's a ball hogger; this guy is nothing but pure talent and also a team player. He steps up when he has to and drives hard to the basket. He's a little guy but plays with a big heart taking blows after blows as he penetrates to the basket. He averages 30pts !! ( MVP)

3. Lebron James- Keep in mind how young he is !!! He is a very good player and never gives up. He playes with a lot of emotion !! he is definetly a play maker !!!

4. Kobe Bryant- although he's arogant he is one of the best. He's a play maker !! Averages about 30 pt. He's the guy you want to call on to get the job done !!

5. Steve Nash- he's stats tells it all !! ( MVP)

also G.Arenas, Duncan, O'neal, Kidd, Garnett,

KOBE! Striaght up! I don't know a player that is better than he is. He has the complete package. Offense and defense. He was the only player last year to make both first team all NBA and First Team all defense. Wade, Duncan, Nash and anyone else that you guys might want to claim, didn't pull that off last year. Plus ask any other player in the league and they will say "Kobe!" Just read Gilbert's article as an example.

Honestly I think Kobe Bryant should be mentioned. However Dwyane Wade is also a clear choice.
1. Kobe Bryant
2. Dwayne Wade
3. LeBron James
4. Steve Nash

DWAYNE WADE. He can flat out score, shoot the three, make his free throws regardless of the situation. He also makes his teammates better the (7 assists per game) and hustles on the defesensive end (5 rebounds and 2 steals). Best of all he is clutch he always has his best moments when the team needs him the most and when the lights are brightest (NBA Finals). Just like Jordan did with the bulls. Who cares about turnovers, D-Wade is the BEST!

i would have to say Kobe Bryant! i mean the guy has had so many good games in this season and hes just basically carried this team to a 30+ win season so far and i think this team is going all the way. so ya i say Kobe for best player in the NBA.

Some guys who deserve more credit:

Shawn Marion (# 1 steals, top 20 in most stats, consistently gets double-doubles)

Kevin Garnett (great stats across the board)

Dirk Nowitzki (great stats across the board)

Gilbert Arenas (current points leader, top 10 in assists)

Elton Brand (great stats across the board)

Steve Nash (assists leader, great FG% and other stats)

Ray Allen (great stats across the board, despite missing games)

Vince Carter (great stats and probably the most athletic player in the league - until Iguodala matures a little more)

I know he's hurt right now but if I was building a team I would start with Steve Nash.

Amare Stoudamire, because Suns are without Nash and he's recently on a high scoring streak.
