I say the standings will be:

Eagles - because they always win the NFC East
Giants - retirement of Barber keeps them around 8-8.
Cowboys - Wade Philips. Enough said.
Redskins - No QB and Snyder is still the owner.

I see it almost the same as the original poster, except I flip-flop the Giants and Cowboys. Here are my thoughts as far as how things stand before free-agency and the draft:

1. Eagles - A lot depends on what happens with Andy Reid and his sons this offseason. Defense needs to get better against the run, but the offense is good to go. Westbrook has proven he's a game-changing elite back, and they'll have McNabb back, who was the MVP of the league up to his injury last year.

2. Cowboys - Wade Phillips inherits a talented team, and with his knowledge on defense, that unit should get stronger. They have a strong running game and tough D, two ingredients required for fielding a winning team. What tears them down and keeps them from winning the division is T.O. He'll lose his mind at some point this year and cost his team, guaranteed.

3. Giants - As long as Coughlin is coaching this team they won't be better than an 8-8 team. There's no way to repair the fracture that grew between the coach and his players last year. Eli Manning won't progress much more than he already has. Losing Tiki Barber is a crushing blow to this team for everything he brought to the team. Wouldn't be surprised to see them finish 4th in the division.

4. Redskins - Joe Gibbs is the classiest coach in the NFL this side of Tony Dungy, but won't ever win while Dan Snyder is the owner of this team. They have a good running game (more impressed with Ladell Betts than I ever was with Clinton Portis, but no D. Went 1-5 last year against the rest of the NFC East, and don't really see them improving on that mark.

Ok...i was just thinking about this too

First...we can completely rule out the Redskins for a couple of years.....

I dont think the Giants have what it takes to beat any of their division rivals without Tiki..
They came close to loosing their 1st game with the eagles and they won by luck and catching the cowboys off guard during a Qb change....But as soon as both of those teams got abck on track, they were defeated by them....

So now its some down to either the Cowboys or the Eagles....i think if McNabb comes and does the same 50-50 passing and throwing strategy that they had with garcia...They will own the NFC. Westbrook shown he can carry the team and with the McNAbb big play factor, no one will be able to defeat them....But the cowboys will still get a playoff berth

Eagles-The most talented team in the division. Mcnabb will be back. The D is great. Westbrook has proven he can be a 1000 yard, 200 carry back. They will lose the NFC Championship.

Cowboys-Second most solid team. Strong D. M. Barber and J. Jones is a great rushing attack. Romo will try harder after his embarassment in the playoffs.

Redskins-When healthy their D is great. Portis and Betts is the best rushing duo in this division. Jason Cambell can't possibly be that bad next year. He has Chris Cooley, Santana Moss, David Patten, Antwann Randel El and Brandon Lloyd to throw to.

Giants-Coughlin is stupid. The loss of Barber will pressure on Eli to pass more because Brandon Jacobs is not a proven #1 yet. The D is not that great. 25th in the league.

I think it will be close between the Eagles and Cowboys. If Romo performs the way he did when he first took over the role of starting QB, then I think the Cowboys have a nice shot of going all the way to the Conference Championships. But on the other hand, McNabb is returning for Philly, so you can't be so sure. I can't chose, and I think it will be a toss up.

Redskins because Portis is going to be healthy and Jason Campell did great as a QB.
They did beat a team like the Jacksonville Jaguars who the giants, cowboys, or eagles cannot beat.
The Redskins can beat the Cowboys, almost beat the giants and nearly beat the eagles. They are a great team but with portis back they will do better than maybe 2005.

I agree with your standings

Eagles - need to keep McNabb healthy or hold on to Garcia, but the rest of the division, and NFC for that matter, is weak
Giants - they won't get any better, Eli is not Peyton, he can't win games for them
Cowboys - Its time for TO to destroy them. He'll have Wade Phillips regretting taking that job by November.
Redskins - Portis is overrated (every running back looks good in Denver's system), if they fall behind by 10 points at any time during a game they have no way of recovering

Eagles seem to be the ready to win again...it all depends on McNabb
Though Dallas clearly has a chance to win too...they have a new coaching staff in and only time will tell if Tony Romo will bounce back from the botched snap in Seattle.

Eagles....only team that hasn't been messed with..
Cowboys--new coach...unless Romo has a spectacular season and TO actually trusts him
Giants--Need Manning to step up big time...cuz running game and defense are a little short - handed
Redskins--gotta give campbell some time to mature...and Gibbs needs to dip.

I would say the Cowboys. The eagles are on the decline and you can only stay on top in this league for so long. Washington is always a wild card. They could be great or horrible.
