I want to go but don't know how i can book a room because sites only go a year in advance.

Actually, if you call some of the major hotels, they can tell you exactly when ahead of time you can book the room. Some even have a waiting list already. Websites (either hotel or third party) don't have this info b/c usually the hotels would like to book it without the web (due to commission). And since it will be a major event, hotels know that they don't need the website as much. If they tell you we don't book it that far ahead, just tell them its for the Olympics, they will make sure one way or another you get accomodated.

its called a telephone, i would pick it up and call some hotels directly
