Biochemistry is a good major. You can become many things after you graduate. Like you mentioned, it is perfect for med school. Also it is good for becoming a pharmacist as well. I majored in biochemistry for my undergraduate degree. Now I am a pharmacist in New York.

The study of biochemistry allows you to learn and understand bodily functions beyond the microscopic level. Biochemistry will not only give you enough knowledge about how the human body works, but what medicines and what procedures can be used when something goes wrong with a system(s). If you later change your mind and decide that you do not want to go to medical school, having a degree in biochemistry will allow you to get accepted into other science programs and non-science related fields withouth having to do all the work that people without the degree are subjected to. In other words, you can join an accelerated program and graduate faster than the average student after you have gotten a degree in chemistry. Best wishes.
