OMG That sounds like an awesome assignment! I'm jealous!

There are so many options. There can be a man who kills parents because he had bad parents as a child... or a man who kills children because they treated him wrong when he was a child...

Murder is always some kind of revenge. Ask yourself what would make you mad enough to kill someone, and use that as the motive. It could either have the police detective as the main character, or it could be a family member of the victim who is going to find the killer and get revenge. The first part should be when the main character discovers that the person was murdered. Then there will be a scene where the main character is remembering who the victim was, and describing him or her. This is where you create sympathy for the victim. Next you will want to describe some detail about the main character to make him seem real, so the reader will care about him/her. We don't know the motive until the end, because the motive usually is what solves the mystery of who did it. A good plot twist is to create a circumstance that makes the main character not want to kill or arrest the murderer, and there is a moral dilemma. The end will be what eventually happens to the murderer, and what happens to the main character. That ties up the story. This is usually where the main character makes a statement of what the whole experience has taught him about morality, or a new outlook on life. This leaves the reader with something to think about, and gives a sense that the story was written for a purpose.

You could write it as a flashback. Basically, talk about the murder, and then go back and discuss the reason the person did it. You could even try to put a spin on it making it a murder mystery, like describing a situation, and not the person, and then have two cops try to solve the murder and then figure out who did it.
Basically, watch an episode of CSI or Without a Trace and use that as an idea, then just change the names and locations and some other things and call it your own. Of course you do need to change quite a bit of it, but it will give you ideas.

How about best friends who are jealous over a love interest. The murder takes place on Valentines day. Each person friend 1, friend 2, and love interest receive a note to arrive at a bed and breakfast for dinner and dancing. Suddenly the lights go out and when they come back on, there lies friend one with a knife in her back. Symbological don't you think? The mystery is, who killed friend 1, the love interest, or friend 2. love interest might have because they wanted friend 2 all to themselves jealousy over the friendship between friend 1 & 2 or because they felt suffocated by friend 1's attention (stalking).

Good luck on your paper!

Person is trying to make his true love jealous so she'll notice. Person 2 (the girl) feels horrible about his girlfriend, so she commits suicide. As she raises theknife, person 1 enters and trys to stop her but she does it any way. He kills him self too. It turns out a burglar trys to enter the house a few minutes after the girl's mother comes home. The mother finds her daughter and the boy and while trying to dial 911, the burglar enters. He see's her and kills her quickly, only to find that he wasn't the woman he was trying to shoot. The woman he wanted to shoot had gambled at a casino with him, cheated, and took $5,000 from him. He escapes but leaves a print on a knife he dropped (the same used to kill the daughter).

A boy liked a girl but wanted to make her jealous.

Then one day

things went terribly wrong.

The next few weeks

were like a very sad

song.

He made her jealous

on purpose he tried.

When the girl asked, "Do you love her?"

on purpose he lied.

He played with jealousy

like it was a game.

Little did he know

Things would never be the same.

His plan was working

but he had no clue.

How wrong things would go,

the damage he would do.

One night she broke down,

feeling very

alone.

Just her and the blade,

no one else home.

She dialed his number,

he answered, "Hello"

She told him she loved him

and hung up the phone.

He raced to her

house

just a minute too late.

Found her lying in blood

her heart

had no rate.

Beside her was a note,

in it her confession.

Her love for this boy,

her only obsession.

As he read the note,

he knelt down and cried.

Grabbed her knife,

that night they both died.

She was found in his arms,

both of them dead.

Under her

note

his handwriting said:

"I loved her

so, she never knew.

All this time

She loved me

too."

The motive is that the murder victim is a worthless Muslim terrorist who has murdered the family of a Christian CIA agent. The CIA then seeks out this worthless piece of scum and rubs pig fat all over him before he slowly cuts off his genitals and stuffs them down his throat.

How do you like the story so far... ahmed?
