Yes, there is. The problem is that Utah schools are some of the most crowded in the nation because of the state's birthrate. But pay for teachers in Utah is also some of the lowest in the nation. In fact, the College of Education at Utah State University no longer recommends that its graduates look for work in Utah! That's how bad the pay situation is. The State Legislature is controlled by a bunch of tightwad Republican rednecks who would rather spend their money on bigger highways and defending unconstitutional anti-abortion laws than in educating their children.
