The Peidmont is the better in the area, with Charlotte, the growth of the area presents a larger market for the economic growth, depending on the area the costs of living vary, the Concord/Harrisburg area is very cost affordable, as well as Union County, Mecklenburg County itself has its good areas, and the crime rates in the area are down, I actually have a friend who is a Principal in Union County and many teacher friends in that area, As long as you stay within the 485 cooridor you wound't have a major problem getting to almost anywhere who would like, malls, religious denominations, etc. I personally live in Mecklenburg County, on the Cabarrus County line, in a 2000 sqft townhome, can be in downtown in 15 minutes, can be at Concord Mills Mall in 5 minutes, the Speedway in 3 minutes, or to my job in Union County in 20 minutes, if you have any more questions I'll be glad to help you, I've lived in the area for 24 years and know it like the back of my hand. j_d_knight@yahoo.com
