over the board, to the extremes, proud, fun, contradiction.
Why?, 'cause:
Over the board, to the extremes: Only in America people get completely crazy and obsessed with anything: bowling, quilting, yo-yo, etc...
Proud: Because all Americans are proud of themselves and their country, which is great, but sometimes, and only some people are too cocky about it, but it has no connection to being American rather than people are jerks sometimes.
Fun: because they are fun, most of the American I've met at least. (and I've met many!)
Contradiction: Not an adjective, but it does come to my mind, because only in America people freak out because Janet Jackson showed a covered nipple on TV, but you also show the Playboy mansion with a guy sleeping with 3 women, create the most violent movies and show women fighting on TV to get some guy...so, it is contradictory, right? a nipple on TV is NOTHING compared to all that.
But I like you guys :)

(Yes I'm American) and not all but some:LAZY, and whatever word describes "people who complain about something and have the power to fix it, but don't and just keep complaining."
Lazy, I'm talking about all the people on government help just because they can, and because they don't FEEL like working. They'd rather have the rest of us pay their bills for them and keep their kids fed. And the second part of my comment pertains to the government complaining about the illegal immigrants from Mexico, yet we just let them keep coming over that half*ss fence. And at the same time, we give them healthcare even though they're illegal. There's REAL citizens who need help and can't get it and we're just passing it out to the people who aren't supposed to be in the first place. Sorry I was rambling there, I just think the whole "proud to be American" thing is becoming overrated because we can't take care of ourselves but we stick our nose in everyone elses business and take care of their people when we don't take care of our own.

there r a lot of ppl living here and so many of them are different. i'd have to say the biggest things that come to mind r hypocrites, liars, generous, and kind. these describe all the people i know who fit into one category or another. but then hasn't everybody been a hypocrite at least once?

Stupid, loud, rich, crazy...
BTW: I am an American and just got back from a 2 week vacation in South America today. This is what others perceive us to be, from my chats with locals and other tourists.
