PETA is made up of people who are different ages, races, religions, nationalities and sexual preferences. Why do people target PETA for hate, and why do people help spread lies and hatred for PETA? Why do people call them "terrorists" when PETA is trying so hard to help both people and animals?

while i love some of the message they are trying to get across .. the way i hate is how they are getting it accross .. paying off activists to bomb medicinal labratorys where animals are being tested on, ruining thousands of dollars of furs, scaring children into being vegans. they are in sense a terrorist organization, and for the most part a very hypocritical organization at that.

they are for complete animal liberation ... no pets (not even for the handicapped), no meat, no testing on animals. which i am not for ... do they honestly think all of the domesticated animals will live a week out in the wild? instead of destroying things maybe they should just take the time to sit down and talk about issues, provide solutions. i can gaurentee them there is alot of meat eaters and fur wearers, or those who use products tested on animals that are open to ideas on how to get rid of our dependency on such things.

Because PETA sometimes goes a little overboard, and uses somewhat questionable tactics to achieve an admittedly noble goal.
For example, PETA activists have been known to throw red paint (symbolizing blood) on women wearing fur coats to oppose the use of animal fur in fashion. This is destruction of property, and two wrongs don't make a right.
PETA is more likely than other animal rights organizations to take extreme measures and bend the law; just because they do it for a good purpose doesn't make it any more justifiable than people who do it for a bad purpose (like racism or terrorism).

The Humane Society and SPCA generally create more effective results using less extreme methods.

PETA has gotten, over the years, more strident and shrill in their words and actions... an example: They lobbied to change the name of Fishkill, New York, saying it was cruel. (kill means creek in Dutch)

I have no proplem with people for the ethical treatment of animals. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, on the other hand, have lost their way.

And most 'terrorists', you could say, are trying pretty hard. Trying hard is not an excuse for bad results; as the saying goes, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

The beliefs behind PETA are honorable ones, unfortunately they have taken their beliefs to an extreme and have committed terrorist acts in assaulting scientists and destroying scientific facilities. In general, people who commit violence against others deserve no respect from the wider public.

I admire what PETA does but I think it's because they are in a way an extreme group. PETA has the right idea about treating animals right but they sometimes in danger other humans and themselves in the process not to mention insult some people.

One time I trolled a PETA forum and while I was there I read some pretty disturbing things. People were even saying that they would rather go human hunting than animal hunting!

because of the PETA activists that go around throwing paint and crap on people's fur coats. how would you like it if i threw a bucket of paint on your car because i didnt like our world's consumption of oil? i know not all of them are like that but like always, a few ruin it for the whole group.
